Fleet News: Plymouth Citybus

A MAN Ecocity bus with Go Aheads Anglian Buses fleet might seem an odd choice of photo for Plymothian Transit…

However there is a very good reason why its here. I was able to confirm over last weekend that the batch of these buses currently working for Anglian are heading this way later in the summer. There is some work to be done installing the equipment needed etc so it will be a while before they enter service but the current plan is to use them on the ‘new’ 43 and possibly the 40/41.

Repaint

Ex Brighton 54 is now in service in full swoops, looking really smart.

A reminder of what it used to look like Plymouth Citybus 054 GU52HKB Plymouth Citybus 253 LX05EYS 253 is the earlier repaint in swoops, now out and about in service.
There are conflicting reports to say 53 is in the paint shop, although another commenter says that is not the case yet. Either way it wont be long before it too gets repainted
251 LX05EYV is currently being prepped for repaint

Outgoing

42 X142CDV has left the fleet and is now part of the PCTPG Collection
pctpg x142cdv 32 T132EFJ is believed to be heading to Devon & Cornwall Police to replace former Plymouth Citybus 125
406 407 410 411 412 413 414 415 419 have all been sold on to Ensign.
This post has been pre-prepared for posting on the 27th July. I have set aside the evening of the 26th to upgrade to Windows 10. If I don't reappear on the 28th then it clearly didn't go well…

  1. 42 has not joined the fleet, this is proved by it not being on their fleet list & is therefrom more than likely to have gone for scrap

    1. It only joined last month so fleet list probably not yet updated

    2. Re Anonymous 27 July 2016 at 11:50... With respect unless you are sure of your facts it is far better not to comment at all.
Graham had clearly said 42 was in preservation, which it is.

    1. Sorry - but if the PCTPG say they have the bus in their fleet (and they should know) then THAT is fact. End of conversation.

  4. I swear 253 resonantly just got painted into swoop livery at the beginning of this month? Does anyone know what 253 and 251 is being repainted into?

    2. Not sure what you mean, Graham has shown 253 above fully repainted. It was available for service from 1st July.
Presumably you mean 53 (not 253) when asking does anyone know what it is being repainted into.
As for 251, it has been repainted red and was awaiting finishing when I last passed Milehouse.

    1. i would of thought LDP266 LX05EYT would be painted not scraped but guessing spares like 205

    2. I think its just the way the previous comment is written out - but LDP266 isnt for scrapping, its just in the yard with the others mentioned. Its bus 57 that is specifically being stripped for spares

  7. They were the first Bach of buses to have the every journey taken care of slogan on them.

    1. Yes this was the 1st of the fleet to be every journey, i believe as they was repainting them there go-ahead branding changed from Your local bus to every journey taken care of, like other go ahead buses that have Journeys taken care of, and caring for your journey
