Incoming Plymouth Citybus

The influx of Go Ahead London PVLs for Plymouth Citybus continues with three more now arrived at Milehouse:

    Are CityBus increasing their proportion of Double Decker buses, or will these be replacing older ones that are being scrapped?

      I reckon partly a bit of both! They do desperately need more deckers as with the yellow Volvo B10Ms withdrawal in May/July together with the 32, that's eleven additional deckers they need, on top of all the other school routes and the 21/21A. As a consequence, simply as there aren't enough buses, four deckers have been since October temporarily removed from the 21/21A until more arrive/enter service. So yes they are increasing the number of deckers they have, as they are badly needed due to some extremely full loads in the Citaros/Darts on the 21 as I've previously mentioned, but remember they have 25 odd SLFs that need replacing too!

      I dont know the exact numbers but there are still plenty available in London for them to get yet!

    Any news on the PVL's that arrived a couple of weeks ago and how many are coming?,and also same information on the further Enviros that are due?.

      None yet in service but I think that some are expected to be ready for the revised 5 5A starting next month. There have been reports that some of the new Enviros have been spotted at Plaxtons but I am not sure if its been confirmed they are Plymouth's yet.

      Thanks Graham,I suppose it's a matter of wait and see.It seems things are going full circle where double deckers in Plymouth were the "norm"and single deckers were a rarity!!.

    Talking of Presidents, it looks as tho 32874 (HIG1524) is being re-liveried. Its gaining an all Green Skipper/First Scheme.
