Andrew Wickham has been appointed the new Managing Director at Go South Coast, Go-Ahead's bus company which includes Wilts and Dorset, Bluestar and Southern Vectis.
Andrew, who takes up the role with immediate effect, succeeds Alex Carter who has left the business. Andrew was previously MD at Plymouth Citybus.
David Brown, Go-Ahead Group Chief Executive said: "I am delighted that Andrew has accepted the role. He has an excellent track record at Plymouth Citybus and will bring extensive experience and knowledge of the bus industry to his position. I would also like to thank Alex for what he has achieved at Go South Coast."
Andrew, who was Operations Director at Go South Coast from 2003 to 2009 said:"I am pleased to be returning to Go South Coast and look forward to the challenges of my new role. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the fantastic team at Plymouth Citybus and wish them well for the future."
Go-Ahead will be looking for a successor to Andrew at Plymouth Citybus.
Andrew has been Managing Director of Plymouth Citybus since December 2009, when Go-Ahead acquired the bus company. Before that he was Operations Director at Go South Coast and also spent three years working for Go-Ahead as its Development Manager. Andrew joined the bus industry in 1987 working for Brighton Borough Transport Ltd and was at London General when Go-Ahead acquired the company in 1995.
It should be noted that Andrew will continue to act as MD for Plymouth Citybus until his successor is recruited and in position. Possibly a few months away.
