dialogue

CITY councillors called on bus companies to consult residents and the council when they plan to change their services. Plymouth City Council will write to Citybus and First asking them always to undertake meaningful discussions, in the wake of changes announced recently by Citybus. Councillor Patrick Nicholson (Con, Plympton St Mary) told yesterday's meeting of the full city council:

"Far more dialogue should take place than has happened this time. "If it does, we might have far better bus services than we do."

Councillor Terri Beer (Con, Plympton Erle) said she had taken the initiative in talking to Citybus about its planned changes. Councillor Glenn Jordan (Con, Plympton Chaddlewood) said the problem was that people were not using these bus services and councillors should be trying to encourage more people to use buses.
