A charity bus pull is to take place at Plymouth Hoe on May 24 in aid of a new children's hospice. The event, the third of its kind run by Dave the Shed, will see teams try to pull a bus along a stretch of the promenade.

The event is open to any team of between six and ten fit and able men or women. The team has to pull a 9.2 tonne double-decker bus 100m along the Hoe against the clock. Teams are encouraged to wear fancy dress for the event. John Ackroyd, managing director of Citybus, entered last year wearing a black skirt and pink top with his team of depot staff named The Citybus Drag Queens.
