Plymothian Bridges 30: North Road West

Dead Bridge

No, I have not lost my mind. This is a bridge. Or at least it was a bridge. Technically it still is a bridge but its been filled in. You can just see at the bottom of the brick wall there are the iron girders which were clearly part of the bridge structure. There used to be a line to Millbay Station which branched off the main line (just behind me in the photo above) and passed under this bridge.

There were in fact two lines with this side linking in the branch from Plymouth North Road Station while the other side - the the right of this view, linked he Cornwall side of the main line and came over the bridge that was featured as number 28.
