If you have a season ticket or a return ticket for a specific operator, you want to get the right operator's bus, not accidentally flag down the wrong one. It also makes it confusing for people who don't usually take the bus. They might see the buses go around the area they live or work and not know which operator those buses are for.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11828686.post-19198000058652203912014-08-12T07:41:24.841+01:002014-08-12T07:41:24.841+01:00They are being painted by Target Travel They are being painted by Target Travel Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11828686.post-82324022091293906812014-08-12T07:03:06.293+01:002014-08-12T07:03:06.293+01:00I would suggest they are being painted by Target T...I would suggest they are being painted by Target Travel whose paint shop is next door to the PCTPG depot.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11828686.post-24826958984301191762014-08-12T06:54:34.419+01:002014-08-12T06:54:34.419+01:00It's Target Travel who are repainting the Firs...It's Target Travel who are repainting the First buses, the PCTPG use their old Colebrook depot to store their buses, but Target still have their paint shop there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11828686.post-85606398375247717792014-08-11T20:00:02.755+01:002014-08-11T20:00:02.755+01:00Am I being stupid, why is there an old citybus min...Am I being stupid, why is there an old citybus minibus in the picture?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11828686.post-73671617632154433772014-08-11T19:39:43.734+01:002014-08-11T19:39:43.734+01:00Interesting to see that the PCTPG have been repain...Interesting to see that the PCTPG have been repainting the buses for First! Indeed...Why should they stick to their own colours? Indeed, whilst the CityBus has long been red, shouldn't First be green? The country buses around Plymouth were green long before anyone thought of First!
But that's not the point, Go North East at one time had a different livery for each route group (I don't think they are quite that diverse now), and indeed Reading and Trent/Barton do too. Why shouldn't they choose any colour they like? I'd even argue that Park & Ride should be a different livery to 'normal' service buses, providing the depot allocation is reliable (and we know the problems it can cause), so that P&R users who are by definition motorists rather than bus users can recognise their bus from the others coming down the road.
If CityBus should be red and First purple, to quote Henry Ford, all cars should be black.
